Katherine, I'm a huge fan of your books and I love your comment, "the message we convey in these two books—order will be restored at the end, triumphing over chaos." I've reviewed three of Carolyn Hart's books and she gave me a wonderful quote for the article. She said, “Mysteries can be therapeutic. They provide a sense of order in a disorderly world and reaffirm a commitment to justice.” A lovely sentiment, so happy you were a guest today.mary kennedynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18677180.post-47238849447291441192009-12-08T15:23:03.619-05:002009-12-08T15:23:03.619-05:00I'm here now and will be until around 6 PM (wi...I'm here now and will be until around 6 PM (will also check later).
What a lovely bunch of comments!
And Denise, of course I remember you! And thank you (and the late great Bill Deeck) for having introduced us to the wonderful world of Joan Coggin, whose books continue to attract new readers year in and year out. Last but not least, The Body in the Sleigh is a marvelous addition to the Christmas canon and thanks for writing it. I'll have to check them out.

For some reason, mysteries with a holiday background just never really do it for me. This may be partly due to the fact I've randomly picked up Christmas mysteries in April or October - not a good fit!

And I've never tried to write a mystery centred on the holidays. I think it would be a challenge to capture all those moods, excitement, weather, anticipation, stress - and a dead body, yikes!

Hey, since I like a challenge... maybe I'll give it a whirl!

The one holiday & special occasion series I do get a kick out of are Janet Evanovich's "between the numbers" novellas featuring Stephanie Plum. Light, funny and an amusing and easy read year round.

Cheers, Jill
Check out the "Blood and Groom" book trailer at:
http://ow.ly/FGOmJillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05152599507268946811noreply@blogger.com
